It’s the most magical day of the year—Unicorn Day! And I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a brand-new, free knitting pattern that brings a little sparkle, a lot of joy, and a dash of rainbow magic straight to your can of choice.

Introducing the Unicorn Can Cozy!

This whimsical cozy is knit in the round (as always!) and features a unicorn horn you knit yourself using the included written instructions. The real fun starts after the knitting is done:

• Embroider a sweet little smile

• Sew on small buttons for nostrils or embroider them (I skipped this, but you could add it!)

• Sew on buttons for eyes and glue on googly eyes for extra personality

• Add a vibrant rainbow mane and a matching tail—yep, the tail goes opposite the mane on the cozy for the full unicorn experience!

It’s equal parts functional and fantastical—and it’s available now as a free download on my website!

Other Ways to Celebrate Unicorn Day

Looking to keep the unicorn vibes going? Here are a few more magical ideas to celebrate:

• Bake unicorn cupcakes: Think swirly pastel frosting, edible glitter, and cute little fondant horns!

• Make unicorn party mix: Use our recipe for Santa party mix. The easy swaps would be color-based—cover the Bugles with pastel chocolate, use pastel M&Ms, and finish with rainbow sprinkles!

• Dress the part: Rock your favorite unicorn tee, pastel accessories, or even a DIY horn headband.

• Unicorn crafts with the kids: From coloring pages to DIY paper plate unicorns, it’s the perfect excuse for a little glitter and glue.

• Make a unicorn-inspired drink: Blend up a rainbow smoothie or make a fizzy drink with food coloring and edible shimmer for extra sparkle.

• Host a mini unicorn party: Even if it’s just for yourself or your kids, set the scene with unicorn decorations, rainbow snacks, and a playlist of cheerful tunes.

Unicorn Day is all about joy, imagination, and a little bit of sparkle—and I hope this cozy brings a smile to your face and some rainbow magic to your day.

Tag me if you make one—I love seeing your versions! Until next time, stay magical!
