No time is wasted time
-Jim Henson
In the world of crafting I find that I have lost so much time doing something I love. But I agree with the words of the late Jim Henson, it wasn’t wasted time. Speaking of time management it took a long time to complete these charts but if you take advantage and work them as I describe in the PDF at the end you’ll have a hefty blanket!
For the past few years my friends over on Ravelry have enjoyed using these charts to make baby blankets, tote bags and pillows and today I encourage all of you to use your favorite chart and make yourself, or a loved one something unique!
Since these are just charts they can be used in either knitting or crochet, just aim to have a square gauge. My gauge on size US 9 knitting needles was 4 sts and 5 rows equals one inch in stockinette. Also I just carried the yarn behind the work and added a back to the blanket. I have seen other people work the charts in duplicate stitch so they have pretty sides on both sides!
I made these squares, then sewed them together and then gifted the blanket to my sister who is a big fan of Jim Henson, the Muppets, and all his works! The blanket ended up being 60″ x 60″
