Alright I’mma be real honest up front on this one. I watched A LOT of macrame videos on how to make a towel holder. They had all these beautiful designs but every time I tried to mimic what they did it was a disaster. Which is hard for me because I am a master at seeing something done and copying it. Sounds really cocky or arrogant but honestly I am VERY good at knitting and crocheting so in my mind, macrame shouldn’t be that hard to imitate. I digress, it is. So here is a VERY simple towel holder that you can use in your kitchen that you won’t cry making. Only cry in the kitchen when you’re cutting onions!

Also I made mine in the kitchen! I used a wreath hanger to hang my ring on so I could work and have tension. I did see some people use a pin and hook it on a soft surface so maybe they worked on a table, which would be nice because my arms kept getting tired. Likely because I tried to make designs work that I had no idea what was going on! There were no words! No pictures! Just a moving at a natural pace person making a beautiful macrame towel holder. Can you tell I’m not over not being able to do it? 😅

If you followed along in my last macrame post during the inaugural summer camp crafts I listed my reasons for the materials I purchased and had several step by step what I did to make the plant holders. I skip a few of these details here but I promise it is still very simple!

So I really decided last minute on most of these crafts which led to me scrambling for supplies I didn’t have on hand. I did already have macrame from the plant holders but I needed more O rings. While I was at my favorite grocery store, Meijer, I happened to be in the craft aisles (ok I ALWAYS visit the craft aisles 😂) and I spotted wooden letters and they had a pack of O’s left so I got those. I was desperate and I figured they’d still work out for me!

I started by cutting 6 strands of macrame 5 feet in length. Then I did the basic knot on for each and going in strands of 4 made 3 square knots for each group.

Definitely started getting momentum here and failed to take any other progress pics until needing to knot on the bottom ring. Basically going from left to right, I skipped the first two strands and then working in a group of 4 did another 3 sets of square knots and did that again in the next set of 4 strands. I left the two remaining strands alone just like I did at the beginning. I finished off just like I started and did 3 groups of four strands of 3 square knots. I hope the picture is helpful in all that explanation! 😅

Before finalizing the length I made sure it’d work with my stove. I think this length would work for most stove handles btw but I did see a lot of these being longer so totally do whatever works for you!

Basically to finish this with your second ring, I just tied it on. Sorry terrible explanation! I took what was “right side facing” and turned it over so I was looking at the wrong side.

Take your strand, go over your ring, make it go underneath, then tie a knot. Reminds me of tying a shoelace TBH.

Make sure when doing this part that you pull your knot tight and you keep the ring as close to your work as possible. This ring however will be in the back so it’s okay if it’s not 💯. I cut my strands to be cute angles and tied the two strands on either side into knots.

Put your towel through the rings on the stove handle and voila! You’re done! Also I meant to write earlier, you could always paint your wooden O’s or rings to coordinate with your kitchen! My kitchen has a very vintage, cottage vibe so leaving it natural made sense in my space.

Onto the drinks!!! I’m having a dry month personally so I didn’t add any alcohol to this years drinks, but you could easily mix it up and add your favorite liquors!

This one is a yummy and easy to make in a small batch. It’s punch! Lemonade punch! I really wanted to make this cute pink drink I found on Pinterest but since I didn’t find strawberry sherbet I made this. So it’s a version of pink punch so I’ll call it rainbow punch!

I put in a scoop of rainbow sherbet at the bottom of my glass. Added a chopped up strawberry and a lemon slice. Then I poured lemonade until it was close to the top. That’s it!

I also attempted to line the rim with pink sugar but I wasn’t super great at it, but at least I tried! I did garnish it with a lemon slice 🥰

Awesome!!!! I Hope y’all enjoyed the first post of this years Adult summer camp crafts! We have a lot of fun crafts and drinks lined up this year so please come back tomorrow for another fun one!!! If you enjoyed this craft AND the lack of interrupting ads please consider, “buying me a coffee” as it helps to run this site ad free! 🙏 thanks friends! Can’t wait to do it again tomorrow!
