I have been eyeing all the motivational painted rocks I see in people’s gardens on instagram and on pinterest. For Christmas this past year I did a little painting on rocks to make little tic-tac-toe games for my nieces. It was a huge hit for them and it was SO EASY to color on the rocks. I still had several large rocks from buying that first box and all the markers left over so I decided it was time me and my friends made some inspirational rocks together! Supplies Needed: Paint Pens and Rocks.
I purchased this box of rocks last year because it was winter and I didn’t want to go scavenging for rocks. Now it’s summer and hot. haha. I’m never satisfied. But these rocks are great because they’re somewhat flat and definitely smooth so it gives you a great surface for painting! Speaking of painting, these pens are the VIP and so easy to use.
We searched maybe a little on pinterest for quotes that interested us, but we also chose words that resonated for us personally.
I liked outlining mine with little dots or slashes to add an extra element of whimsy. Also using different sizes will helped add variety to my lucky bamboo plant’s pot and to my jar of collected acorns and rocks!
I LOVE the color choices my friend made and the variety of sizes!
Just in case you need another picture of our glorious creations:
Haha, they were really fun to make and we maybe spent an hour doing it, drinking our cocktail and just hanging out. That’s what I want this series to promote really, just fun and hanging out. We all need to have more fun since adulting can be a drag sometimes.
Onto cocktails!!
I told you I was keeping it simple this week. This is a Strawberry Rosé Sangria Spritzer. It has less liquid ingredients than words in that title so don’t be intimidated!
Ingredients
- 12 oz Rosé
- 2 oz Strawberry Vodka
- 1 cup Sprite
- (optional) rock candy for flurish!
- 3-4 sliced up strawberries
Directions
- In pitcher mix in all your liquid ingredients and toss in your strawberries, chill
- Once you’re ready to enjoy, pour into your glass and add your rock candy
- Enjoy!
Pretty Easy Breezy. The Rock candy dissolved over maybe a half hour and it made the drink even sweeter – but not overly sweet. It was yummy for sure!
I hope y’all enjoyed today’s adult summer camp craft! I loved being able to paint fun and motivational sayings on rocks. I’m sure I’ll make more in the future and might make some to include in gifts this year. Obvs kids can enjoy making these things as well and I think they’d make thoughtful gifts for birthdays and holidays!
