So while we’ve had Dolly, anytime we weren’t working on her we would cover her back up with a tarp to prevent further water damage. We were hoping that the water was getting in because the vinyl covering the roof seam was cracked and missing in parts. This page contains some affiliate links to products. Before and After of the panels!

You can see in the picture we removed all the contact paper from the inside of the roof and once that was removed we installed new “roof panels” I purchased them from Menards. Our Ceiling is 8’x8′ so we only needed two panels! To glue them we went hardcore and used construction adhesive. Loctite 2292244 Construction Adhesive, Gray, 0.666 CDM

Once the adhesive dried my father in law was able to reinstall the door and center seam. We also replaced the back stabilizer jacks. I was able to find replacements on my new favorite site – Coleman Pop up parts! We got two for the back only since that’s what was originally on the camper.

Aren’t those old jacks terrible?

Next we closed the camper and removed the old cracked vinyl. Took off the metal seam and put down a new strip of eternabond tape! No more leaks will happen with this roof! We then reattched the metal seam cover and put in new vinyl. And after 3 years I can tell you it’s all still holding up beautifully! No leaks!

So much better!!

The last fix we did in this session was fixing both bunk ends. They were wobbly and upon further inspection both sides needed rivets put back in as they had been broken at some point. I wasn’t able to really take a picture of this process, but once we got those rivets in the beds pulled out SO MUCH better! Not to mention that with the bed supports in place (underneath) we noticed it was WAY more stable. What a concept haha. We think they broke because somewhere in 31 years someone might have forgotten to put in the bed supports and then got on a bunk end.

That table is looking pretty bad right? It’s transformation is amazing and I can’t wait to share it! But up next is painting those cabinets and putting in the canvas!!

Here’s a quick fun craft for my crafty friends who have been following along. I love making things and adding elements to encourage a cozy feel. I made little pillows using coordinating fabrics. These TWO pillows came from ONE bed pillow! All I did was cut that bed pillow in half, I divided the stuffing and sewed up the hole. Then I created these covers, in the style of a sham so we can remove the cover to wash if we ever need to do that! The thermos fabric became our curtains for the windows!

See y’all next week to go over how I spray painted and my options on installing a new canvas!
